The other day my father told me I couldn't laugh in court anymore. But what else is one to do when a grown man stomps his feet and throws his papers in a tantrum that could only rival that of a two year old?
Perhaps I should just stay out of the court room...
Jamie & Kara
Mainly just place where Kara likes to vent. But occasionally we might add some fun photos, Jamie might tell a joke, or you might learn something new... we will see.

Almost Two Years Ago
So, I realize that it was almost two years ago that I posted on this blog. But, in moving back to Blanding I find that I have things to say that either won't make sense to my general followers, are completely irrelevant to my business, or it is little more personal.
I like to write. And I like to write when I have lots of emotions. If it bothers you- read a different blog. I hear there are some good ones out there. I am sure they would welcome your cynical remarks, judgmental attitude, and overall complaining nature. If you would like a list of blog I recommend just ask and I will gladly send your their way. :)
So, what is my issue today? What brings this blog back up after two years of being ignored?
I am frustrated. I am anger towards people that I shouldn't be. Months ago I had a conflict with a friend of mine. We hashed it out, cried a little, yelled a little and left it possibly better friends and with more open lines of communications. I have completely moved on... I think.
It turns out some of the decisions she and I made that day I am still cleaning up after. I have a mess on my plate that I am sure how to deal with and I am struggling not to hate her for it. Her decisions are directly related to the problems that I am now trying desperately to fix and she will never have to deal with repercussions of it because I made excuses for her, I covered. I took full responsibility and I informed everyone that I could handle it. And... it makes me angry.
I feel like she should be the one explaining all of this. But, I guess that is what happens when you start your own business. I started this. It is my business, it is my name. It IS my responsibility to clean up the messes. And, lets be honest, I can't change it. I can't go back and do it differently. It is over. I can only learn from my mistakes and do better next time.
But on to happier things. Since we did title this, "Laws Family Blog" I should include a little more info. about Jamie. Lets face it he is usually the favorite in this relationship. ;)
Jamie & I are officially in Blanding. We are looking at all 10 houses that are for sale (I am not kidding there are only 10) and trying to make decisions. We are hoping to make a good one. I don't really like moving. It makes me want to hurt people. or just sit down and cry.
So far the experience has been great and we are so happy to be back. I am glad we left when we did and would most definitely do it the same way again. Our time away was awesome and strangely warm... but we are both happy to be back. Happy to be close to family, to live somewhere with seasons, and very happy to have less traffic.
Hopefully you will hear from us must more often now that we are home. :)

Super Late or Super Early?
It is 4:08 am. I am awake.
I am not feeling very drowsy.
My husband is sleeping peacefully in the other room, I know cause I just came from there... and I can still hear him snoring. He only snores when his subconscious misses me. :)
I have released the torments that were trapped in my mind keeping me up. I wasted some time and was about to head back to bed when I realized... It is 4:00 in the morning. People start getting up in an hour.

I always wanted to be an early riser. Perhaps I should not go to bed and just get a good start on the day. I could do my hair, clean the kitchen, and have breakfast ready before Jamie even thought of waking. I could clean off my desk and start the laundry, and work out. I could reply to the email piling up and organized the hundreds of t-shirts we ordered. Wow! I could know what it is like to see the sunrise, and to actually be ready for the day.
But my toes are cold.
I know Jamie is warm...
The sun will rise tomorrow, perhaps I will see it then. :D

Never Update
So I never, hardly EVER update this blog. I am sorry. I just feel like I have nothing to say. However, as of today I am going to try harder even if they are five sentence posts. :)
Things are good here. Jamie is about to finish school and we get to start the ever enjoyable process of job hunting. Hopefully it will be quick and painless. Because after job hunting we get to start the house hunting!!
I am super excited for the house hunting. We have been looking on and off for a house for about six months now and now we can really be more serious about it.
I am also looking for a new art director/second shooter. So if anyone knows of anyone who is interested in this type of thing, and is willing to learn, send them my way. :)

The Selfish Rabbit
So I was going through our book shelf today and I stopped to look at Jamie's old scrap books. I love journals, scrap books, old pictures etc. They make me laugh so hard, but none as hard as this story by Jamie.
The Selfish Rabbit
By Jamie Laws
One fine November morning there was a greedy selfish rabbit who had every single thing he wanted. One day he was eating the grass and he was shot with a twenty-two.
Jake and his dad skinned the rabbit and went into cook rabbit. Jake had so much fun eating the rabbit he decided to go watch a movie. The movie was so funny and scary at the same time he peed in his pants and the died laughing so hard.
So don't eat rabbits and watch funny movies afterwards and don't be greedy and selfish... or both.

Bills & Slippers
I don't get dressed on Monday. Mondays suck why in the world would I make it worse by switching out my comfy slippers for real shoes? Leaving my bed is a chore all in itself. I feel l should be allowed to sleep through Mondays as they are destined to be a disaster no matter what. I compromise by wearing my jammies ALL DAY; no exceptions.
I also don't get the mail. I hate the getting the mail, I never have any... let me re-phrase that, I never have anything good. Getting the mail is just a recurring disappointment. I spare myself the daily letdown and allow my mail box to store the looming heartbreak for days at a time.
Today is Monday. Today would also make four days since I have ventured down the street to my stored disappointment. Since I am waiting for no less than three checks I decided that it was time to put my heart on the line again.
I opened my door to the open mockery of several neighbor kids, for some reason they didn't think my dinosaur pjs and pretty, pink slippers were fashionable. I trudged towards the mail box, laughter echoing in my ears and small bits of hope bubbling inside of me. Today would be the day. Today my trip to the mail box would be worth it.
My hands shook with excitement as I put the key in my box and opened it.
A bill.
Thats right a bill.
Nothing else, just a bill.
I have been waiting for three checks, business cards, price lists, two magazines, 200 t-shirts, a banner, bride buttons, gift bags, and at least three separate print orders and all I have is a STINKIN' BILL!?! The post office hates me.
My pretty pink slippers are dirty. The dinosaurs are shamed. And I am suing some one for emotional distress...
